Effective Date: June 11, 2026
Self Employment Toolkit offers a Free tier ($0 forever, with monthly limits on mileage trips and time entries) and a Pro subscription tier ($6 a month or $48 a year). This page describes the refund policy for the Pro tier and what to do if you do not recognize a charge from us on your statement. Free-tier accounts are never charged, so nothing on this page applies to them.
Charges appear on your credit or debit card statement as:
WOODFIRE (Woodfire Digital, LLC, the operator of Self Employment Toolkit). Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record.
If you see a charge from "WOODFIRE" and are not sure what it is, it is your Self Employment Toolkit subscription. Email us before disputing it with your bank, see section 5.
You may request a full refund within 14 days of the initial charge for your subscription. This window covers your first paid month (monthly plan) or your first paid year (annual plan). After 14 days the initial charge becomes non-refundable, but you can cancel any time so you are not charged again.
Recurring renewal charges (the second monthly charge, the second annual charge, and every charge after that) are not refundable. You can cancel your subscription at any time from inside the app, which stops future charges. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access through the period you have already paid for.
Email support@selfemploymenttoolkit.com from the address on your account. Include the date of the charge and the email tied to your subscription. We confirm receipt within one business day and process approved refunds within five business days. The refund is returned to the original payment method through Paddle, which may take an additional 3 to 10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your card issuer.
Before disputing a charge with your bank or card network, please contact support@selfemploymenttoolkit.com. In nearly every case we can resolve the issue (refund, credit, or correction) faster than a chargeback can. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us is treated as a material breach of the Terms of Use and may result in immediate account suspension or termination. See the chargebacks section of the Terms of Use for the full clause. This policy does not waive any consumer protections that apply to you under your local law.
When a refund is issued, the paid features of your plan are removed. Your underlying data (mileage trips, time entries, expenses, clients, invoices) stays on your account so you can export it. If you want your account fully deleted, you can do that from Settings or request it by email.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and we will email active subscribers before any change applies to a new billing period.
